1. 개요[편집]

농협 산하의 협동조합으로 낙농업 관련 업체들이 결성한 협동조합이다. 줄여서 "낙협"이라고도 한다. 농산물 관련 협동조합으로는 농협, 축협, 낙협, 인협 이렇게 있지만 2000년 인협과 함께 농협에 통합된 기관이다.

농협, 축협은 전국에 지점이 많이 있었지만 낙협은 그렇게 많은 것도 아니라서 다른 협동조합에 비해 인지도가 낮아 잘 모르시는 분들이 많다. 또한 우리나라의 낙농업 비율이 적은편이고 그렇게 유명한 편이 아닌것도 있다. 그리고 낙농업은 소 우유를 짜거나 가공하는 업종인데 이미 서울우유, 부산우유등 관련 협동조합업체가 많기때문인 것도 낙협이 잘 안 알려져있는 이유 중 하나이다. 유업체 부동의 1위인 서울우유농업협동조합이 규모가 제일 크며 지역별로 낙농업협동조합이 다수 있으며 대부분 농협중앙회 회원조합이다
낙농은 축산업뿐 아니라 농업 전체측면에서 자금회전이 제일 빠른 분야이다
농업 및 축산업은 기본적으로 수확부터 출하, 대금지급까지 상당한 시간이 걸리는 반면 낙농조합원들은 매일매일 우유를 납유하며 15일에 한번, 한달에 두번 대금을 지급받는다.
