포스트 그런지과 콜렉티브 소울 등의 루츠 록이 소소하게 인기를 얻던 1990년대 말~2000년대 초 흐름에 편승하여 버티컬 호라이즌이 메이저 데뷔를 하여 성공을 거둔 곡이었다.
상기 1999년 우드스탁 공연에는 본 공연 하루 전에 열렸던 프리쇼에 출연한 밴드 중 하나로 이 노래를 불렀는데, 해당 프리쇼 라인업에서 유일하게
빌보드 핫 100에서 큰 성과를 냈다. 1위 달성은 2000년 7월 15일 발표 차트에서였으며, 딱 1주만 1위에 오르긴 했지만,
2000년 빌보드 핫 100 연말 차트에는 5위,
빌보드 핫 100 2000년대 총결산 차트에서 55위,
1958년~2018년 빌보드 핫 100 올타임 차트에서 388위에 오르는 좋은 성적을 거뒀다. 이 성과에도 불구하고 록 음악 전체가 퇴조의 흐름에 놓여있던지라, 당시를 기억하는 팬들은 버티컬 호라이즌의 음악이 저평가됐다고 아쉬워하기도 한다.
이 곡을 쓴 보컬/기타리스트이자 밴드 프론트맨인 매튜 스캐널의 얘기에 따르면 자신의
짝사랑 경험을 소재로 썼다고 한다.
